Amy 06/17/09

I struggled with my figure drawing through the first 1.5 hrs.
The wax based medium did not help.
Fortunately I was able to borrow some basic pastel to finish a decent rendering.
This drawing is about a 20 minute study.

Amy was dealing with a cough and somewhat under the weather but she was very professional and made it through the 3 hour session.

Figure Study 05/20/09

I had a busy birthday on May 20. Fortunately I packed three of my favorite interests into (and around) my work day — surfing, running and drawing. Lately my youngest daughter has atttended some of the drawing classes. She hopes to study down at Ringling College.

Three pastel drawings of Jennifer.

Worked rather fast and tried to use color when inspired

Jen 04/08/09

We had six artists at the Artistree last night for figure drawing.
I only brought pencils and a white sketch book.
Jen has the first drawing I did.
Quick study but it turned out nice.
A couple of the drawings I'm posting are from four weeks ago.

Jennifer 02/18/09

This was the third chance for me to draw Jennifer.
I'm still going at my work with a lot of recklessness.
We had some 30 minute (plus) poses and my drawings look like I could have finished them in 5 minutes.
I really enjoy creating spontaneous marks however,
they still should serve a purpose.

Figure Drawing 2009

I started figure drawing this past month after several years removed from it.
We have a good group of artists but it's a small group and I'm not confident we can maintain the weekly sessions unless a few more artists get involved.
